MotoGP returns to the historic Circuit Silverstone for the coming five years at least, starting in 2010. Singing a five year deal with Dorna Sports, the commercial and television rights holder for MotoGP, Silverstone is set for a few years to come. Silverstone hosted the British MotoGP from 1977 until 1986, so it’s no stranger to the two-wheeled speed monsters. The British fans are thrilled to see the MotoGP back on their beloved race track. This year Silverstone hosts also the Formula 1 Grand Prix and the World Superbike Grand Prix.
Did you know that the first Formula 1 back in 1950 was hosted on Silverstone? In fact the circuit of Silverstone was built just after World War II on a former airfield. So the basis for speed was already there before the circuit even existed. Racing on top speed is almost normal in the environment of Silverstone.
Over the years the circuit is evolving into an accommodation of high standard. The owners have invested in the pits, paddock and grandstand area's. The upgrade of the public areas and facilities resulted in a much better view for the spectators on the most exciting parts of the race. Even the infrastructure around the circuit has been improved like the Park&Rider-area near the track. This resulted in must better traffic control, with less traffic jam’s and you will be sure to be on time to see the great MotoGP race!

Do you want to see a little more of Silverstone than only the race circuit? Then bring a visit to the impressive Stow Landscape Gardens. Stow has over 30 arches and temples mirrored in the waters of lakes or silhouetted against the sky. The garden and park were created by the Temple family during a two hundred year period.
