MotoGP Tickets Indianapolis

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is on the MotoGP Calendar since 2009. The first race was won by Jorge Lorenzo riding for Yamaha. The original circuit course of Indianapolis where Nascar is held is oval. To be able to host Formula 1 or MotoGP they constructed a course within the oval. The course still uses almost half of the oval in the last part of the circuit. Unlike the Nascar races the MotoGP is raced clockwise.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway was constructed in 1909, by four rich businessmen. The aim of the circuit was to create a test environment for the strongly rising car industry. However, soon enough the oval track was used for races between the different car manufacturers. Already after the first race the circuit proved to be death-defying because of the original pavement, which consisted of sand and loose scraps stone. For this reason 3,200,000 "bricks" were imported to make the track smoother. Hence the Indianapolis engine Speedway is also called the "Brickyard".

This circuit was formerly used for the famous Indy 500 and of course the Formula 1 Grand Prix of the United States. MotoGP races were never held before 2009. For this reason the track is being adapted in such a way that the Indianapolis MotoGP is one of the most fascinating races of the calendar.
